Confusing language
Terms such as settlement, closure, write-off and waiver are often used as if they mean the same thing. They do not, and the differences matter for your credit history and your future borrowing.
DebtFid is a loan settlement and debt-relief assistance service for individuals in India. This page explains what the company does, the problem it exists to address, how it works with clients, and the claims it deliberately does not make.
What DebtFid is not DebtFid is not a bank, a lender, a non-banking financial company, a law firm, a debt purchaser, a credit bureau or a regulator, and it does not act as an authorised representative of any lender. It does not provide legal representation and it does not guarantee any settlement, reduction, approval, credit-score change or cessation of recovery contact.
A great many households in India carry borrowing that no longer fits their income. What makes the situation harder is not only the debt itself, but the way it is discussed: in jargon, in euphemism, or in promises that cannot honestly be kept.
Terms such as settlement, closure, write-off and waiver are often used as if they mean the same thing. They do not, and the differences matter for your credit history and your future borrowing.
Some services advertise guaranteed reductions or guaranteed outcomes. Because the final decision sits with the lender, such promises cannot be made truthfully — and a borrower has no way to recover what they paid.
People often do not know who to speak to, what to ask for in writing, or when it is sensible to stop and reconsider. Without that clarity, decisions get made under pressure.
Three habits shape how DebtFid works with everyone who gets in touch.
If a settlement is unlikely, or if another route looks more appropriate, we say so rather than allowing an enquiry to drift for weeks. We would rather lose a piece of work than mislead someone.
You receive an explanation of what is happening and why, in plain language, before you are asked to decide anything. Questions are welcome at every stage, including after a proposal has been received.
Every borrower's position differs — different lenders, different amounts, different histories. We look at your actual circumstances rather than applying a standard script.
These are the standards we use to judge our own conduct. They are deliberately unglamorous.
Plain language, accurate terminology, and no hiding of trade-offs behind soft wording.
We do not chase, we do not pressure, and we do not use urgency to shorten your decision-making.
Financial difficulty is rarely a single mistake. Every enquiry is treated seriously and without judgement.
We describe what a settlement service can reasonably do, and we decline to describe what it cannot.
This layout is ready to hold named team profiles once those details have been confirmed and verified by DebtFid. Until then, no names, biographies, qualifications, certifications or years of experience are published.
The person who reviews your enquiry and explains your position. Name, role and experience to be published after verification.
The team that communicates with lenders and recovery departments on your behalf, where you authorise it. Details pending.
Any professional qualifications, certifications or legal-support arrangements have not yet been confirmed. We will not describe them until they are.
Share your enquiry with DebtFid to understand the service and the information needed to assess your situation. There is no obligation to proceed.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee eligibility, approval, or a settlement outcome.
