Privacy Policy

This draft explains what information DebtFid collects through this website, why it is collected, how it is handled, and the choices available to you.

Draft — pending legal review Not final legal advice

Who we are

DebtFid is a loan settlement and debt-relief assistance service for individuals in India. This policy explains how information is handled on this website and through the enquiries submitted using it.

DebtFid is not a bank, lender, NBFC, law firm, debt purchaser, credit bureau or regulator, and does not provide legal representation. Those limits are described in full in the Disclaimer.

The business identity details that a formal privacy notice would normally carry are listed below. They are shown as pending because they have not yet been confirmed to us.

Scope of this policy

This policy applies to this website and to enquiries made through it. It does not apply to any other website or service that may be linked from here, and it does not describe how a lender, a credit bureau or any other organisation handles your information.

This is a draft. It sets out the position as it currently stands, including the parts that are still being finalised, so that nothing here is overstated.

Information we collect

The only information we ask for deliberately at this stage is what appears on the enquiry form on the Contact page: your name, phone number, email address, the category of your enquiry, your preferred contact method, and an optional message describing your situation.

We also receive the basic technical information a web server normally records when a page is requested, such as the pages viewed and general device or browser information. This website also uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the website, and we do not use it to identify you. You can block these cookies through your browser settings, or opt out using Google's browser add-on.

What we ask you not to send

Please do not send any of the following at the enquiry stage, and please do not send them through this website at any point unless a specific, documented need has first been explained to you:

  • Bank passwords or internet-banking credentials.
  • One-time passwords (OTPs) or verification codes.
  • Full debit or credit card numbers.
  • Full account credentials, PINs or security answers.
  • Copies of identity documents, such as Aadhaar, PAN or passport.

A legitimate enquiry never requires these details. If anyone contacts you claiming to be from DebtFid and asks for them, treat it as suspicious and do not provide them.

How we use information

  • To respond to your enquiry using your preferred contact method.
  • To understand the broad nature of your situation so that the service can be explained to you.
  • To keep a record of the enquiry and of any follow-up communication.
  • To operate, maintain and secure this website.
  • To understand how visitors use this website, through Google Analytics, so that we can improve it.
  • To meet any legal or regulatory obligation that applies to us.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Legal basis and consent

We rely on your consent when you choose to submit an enquiry, and on legitimate interests in operating and securing the website. Obligations relating to personal data exist under Indian law, and the precise basis on which this service will operate is subject to legal review. This page does not claim compliance with any specific law or framework.

You may withdraw consent for future contact at any time by telling us in writing. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing that has already been carried out.

How data is stored and who can access it

Enquiry form submissions are currently delivered to DebtFid by email through Web3Forms.

Stated honestly: the storage system, hosting arrangements and internal access controls for enquiry data are still being finalised. Until they are confirmed, this page will not describe a platform, a location or an access model that has not yet been decided.

When those arrangements are confirmed, this section will state where enquiry data is stored, who within the organisation can access it, and on what basis access is given.

Sharing and disclosure

Enquiry form submissions are processed by Web3Forms (web3forms.com), a third-party form-delivery service that passes your submission to DebtFid by email. Web3Forms handles this data under its own privacy policy. Website usage data collected through Google Analytics is processed by Google under its own privacy policy. No other third-party sharing arrangements are currently in place. If any further arrangement is put in place — for example with another service provider that processes data on our behalf — it will be disclosed on this page before it takes effect, together with the category of provider and the purpose.

We may be required to disclose information if compelled by law, by a court order, or by a lawful request from a competent authority. In that event, we would disclose only what is required.

Security measures

Good practice includes limiting access to information, using encryption in transit, keeping systems updated, and reviewing access regularly. These are the principles we intend to follow. The specific technical and organisational measures for this service are still being finalised and will be described here once they are in place.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and no website can promise absolute security.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Depending on the law that applies to you and on the nature of your information, you may have rights such as: being told what personal data is held about you; asking for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate; asking for it to be deleted where there is no continuing reason to keep it; and objecting to certain uses of it.

To exercise any of these, please raise the request through the enquiry form on the Contact page and describe what you would like. The dedicated privacy contact channel has not yet been confirmed, so it is listed below as pending rather than invented.

Children's privacy

This website and service are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this website, please tell us through the Contact page so that it can be reviewed and removed.

Changes to this policy

This is a draft, and it will change. Once finalised, and whenever it is updated afterwards, the revised version will be published on this page. Material changes will be described clearly rather than made quietly. As there is no verified publication or revision date for this draft, none is displayed.
