Loan settlement and debt relief services

DebtFid assists individuals and business borrowers across India with loan settlement and certain debt-related matters. Each service below is explained with the same honesty about its limits as its benefits — including the parts that are still being confirmed.

Settlement services

Settlement means a lender agrees to accept less than the total outstanding as full and final payment of a debt. It is not a standard feature of a loan agreement, and it is not something a borrower can simply choose. The decision always rests with the lender.

Settlement

Personal loan settlement

Support for individuals with an unsecured personal loan they can no longer repay, where a negotiated resolution is being considered. Covers lender conditions, total costs, credit-report effects and the alternatives worth trying first.

Settlement

Credit card settlement

Guidance for cardholders whose dues have grown beyond what they can realistically repay. Explains how interest, late fees and charges accumulate, why card debt is treated differently, and how settlement differs from clearing the balance in full.

Assistance

Payday and app-loan-related assistance

Short-term and app-based borrowing can raise different questions than a bank loan, and not every lender or app has the same regulatory status. This covers legitimate lender-related matters and how to tell them apart from fraud or unauthorised conduct.

Other assistance

Not every debt problem calls for settlement. These services deal with different questions — how short-term and app-based borrowing works, and how to understand recovery contact — and they are handled separately because the appropriate steps differ.

Settlement

Business loan settlement

Assistance for business borrowers, subject to the case types DebtFid is able to support. The borrower-type scope for proprietors, small businesses and companies is still being confirmed, and eligibility depends on the lender and loan structure.

Recovery and harassment-related assistance

Understanding lender and recovery-agent communication, what is and is not acceptable, how to keep records, and the lawful steps available to you. DebtFid does not provide legal representation or act on behalf of any regulator.

What we do not do

Being clear about the limits of a service matters more than listing its benefits. These are the things DebtFid does not do, stated plainly.

  • DebtFid is not a bank, lender, NBFC, law firm, credit bureau or regulator, and does not act as an authorised representative of any lender.
  • We do not provide legal representation and we do not file legal proceedings.
  • We do not guarantee any settlement, reduction, approval, credit-score change or cessation of recovery contact.
  • We do not buy debts, and we do not ask for bank passwords, OTPs or complete card numbers at the enquiry stage.
  • We do not claim to repair credit reports, and we do not promise a particular outcome on your credit history.
  • We do not advise anyone to ignore a legal notice, a court notice, lender communication or any lawful obligation.

How to choose the right route

The right service depends less on the label and more on your actual circumstances — the lender, the type of debt, how far behind you are, and what you can realistically repay.

A useful first question is whether full repayment is genuinely impossible. If it is not, restructuring the loan or asking the lender about adjusted instalments may be a better route than settlement, because it avoids the negative credit-report entry that settlement usually carries.

A second question is what type of debt you hold. Unsecured personal loans, credit card dues and business loans are each treated differently by lenders, and some cases fall outside DebtFid's confirmed scope.

The resources hub sets out these distinctions in plain language, including what to ask any provider before you engage them and what a written fee proposal should contain.

Common questions

Questions about our services

Does DebtFid cover every kind of debt?

No. The services listed on this page reflect the categories DebtFid intends to support, but the exact scope is still being confirmed. Some lenders and some loan structures may fall outside what we can assist with, and we will say so rather than take on a case we cannot handle.

Is settlement the same as closing a loan?

No. Loan closure normally means the loan has been repaid in full, including interest and applicable charges. A settlement repays less than the full amount owed. Lenders typically report the two outcomes differently to credit bureaus, which is why the distinction matters.

Can you guarantee that my debt will be settled?

No, and no honest service can. The final decision always sits with the lender, and it depends on that lender's internal policy and the facts of your case. DebtFid does not guarantee any settlement, reduction, approval or credit-score change.

What does an initial enquiry involve?

Your name, a phone number, a preferred way to be contacted, and a short description of the situation — for example, the type of debt involved. Please do not send bank passwords, OTPs, complete card numbers or identity documents at this stage. Use the enquiry form on the contact page to begin.

Not sure which service fits your situation?

Share a short description of your case and we will explain which of our services, if any, may be relevant — and what the next step would involve.

Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee eligibility, approval, or a settlement outcome.
